Amiee was raised Presbyterian and was baptized at Oakland Presbyterian where her mother and grandparents were members. She has one son David Carvour III. He lives in Cleveland with his fiancee.

Amiee graduated from Madison Plains High School, then attended Clark State, where she received her Associate of Science Degree with a major in Medical Assisting. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa as well as the National Society of Success and Leadership.

Her previous employment was in the Administrative/Clerical  and medical field.
